Engineering

The Engineering and Planning Department is responsible for administrating the planning, engineering, and construction of public works projects. This includes projects involving streets, sanitary sewers, storm water management, water utility, parks, and municipal facilities.

Additionally, the department is responsible for development planning, zoning, inspections, and code enforcement.

Department staff consists of the Public Works Director, Project Manager, and Building Inspector/Zoning Administrator.

Services:

  • Plans, directs, and administers capital improvement projects
  • Prepares capital budget and manages expenditure of appropriations
  • Maintains maps, plans, and records
  • Prepares assessment schedules
  • Directs the administration of zoning, site plan review, house numbering, and floodplain and wetland regulations
  • Directs the enforcement of general construction, heating, electrical, and plumbing
